Arguably one of my favorite parts of the season is going to the mailbox to see if we've received any Holiday Cards from friends near and far. Over recent years there was a steep decline as more and more people just posted to social media vs sending cards and photos in the mail. It was either social media or people decided to stop sending them to me specifically. Either way, I always look forward to seeing pictures of families all dressed in coordinated outfits, smiling brightly at the camera against the backdrop of some scenic location.
So you can imagine my delight when I saw this shot of Jake and his family.
First of all, this picture is ALL OF US. If ALL OF US are beautiful and photogenic and our outfits are perfectly color coordinated and we're perched near perfectly reflective water. Jake's caption sums up this moment perfectly...
This is real life, people. All that’s missing is a sound byte of me screaming “turn down the volume!” In the background.
Merry Christmas from our constantly distracted family to yours.
The struggle to get any sort of air time with kids engrossed in their technology is REAL. The realist life there is right now. As an aside, I've grown really fond of the top of my kids heads since it's the angle I see most often. The rare glimpse of their faces with full eye contact is almost too much to absorb somedays!
When we first talked about our #CelebratetheSeason campaign, Jake shared another tradition with me. Decorating gingerbread houses.
This picture of Kylie on the counter in her Christmas jammies fills me with more holiday spirit than I can quantify. No matter the tradition, no matter the backdrop, the smiles or the lack of smiles...real life baby on the counter ready to eat all the decorations feels like the perfect reason to celebrate.
Here's to Real Life. #CelebratetheSeason
Where do I even begin? I fell head over heels in love with Garman homes over a year and a half ago, and I told my husband we would one day own/build a Garman home. I was sure of it. So when they revealed they would be building in Knightdale Station (where our family wanted to be), you can only imagine our excitement. Their whole vision for their homes is on point. The quality of their homes is unmatched. And I love how transparent and authentic they are as a company. Every single person who works for Garman/Fresh Paint is so easy to work with and super personable. Their team genuinely cares about you and your home. They are cultivating true community right from the start. Danica specifically has been absolutely incredible. She makes the whole process lots of fun and totally seamless. Our home closes in June, and it still feels surreal that we get to own and live in our dream home. Someone pinch me. We are so pumped to raise our growing family here, and to top it off, we have friends building only a few houses down. I'm convinced Garman is the way to go if you are looking for a home that is going to be more than just a house -- but a place to rest, connect, and gather with family and friends. As I always say, I'm a Garman girl through and through!
